Mike Karns

Mike Karns is a Tony Award-winning theater producer and entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of Marathon Digital, Broadway's premiere social media agency, creating content and cultivating communities for some of Broadway’s biggest shows, non-profit arts organizations and live entertainment brands around the world.

During his early years, Mike played a key role in the meteoric resurgence of George Takei, who today is frequently referred to as one of the most popular personalities on social media. Mike's work has been featured in Forbes, Wired Magazine, Newsday, and on his parents'​ fridge.

As a producer, Karns has been represented on Broadway including Hadestown (Co-Producer, Tony Award), Ain't Too Proud (Co-Producer, Tony Nom.), Frankie and Johnny... (Co-Producer, Tony Nom.) The Great Comet (Co-Producer, Tony Nom.) and Allegiance (Co-Producer). Karns has also produced concert tours, stage readings, and developmental workshops like Telly Leung: Live in London, Broadway at Learning Conference, and Seasons of Broadway Fall Concert Tour. Other credits and collaborators include The Public Theater, The Vineyard, The American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards, and The Santa Fe Opera.

Mike is a former council member of the Penn State Alumni Association, the largest dues paying Alumni Association in the world. In 2016, he received the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Penn State Alumni Association, and in 2017 he received the prestigious Alumni Achievement Award from the University.
