OCUNYC was created in 2005 by Lyndy Franklin Smith, Peyton Royal, and Macy Reeves Strimple as a way to ease the transition from OCU student to NYC resident. What started as an annual workshop for students has grown into a year-round community of over 400 alumni working professionally in a wide range of industries. OCUNYC now operates as a non-profit organization, serving as a resource and solid ground for all OCU community members living in or based in the tri-state area.

Our History

Our Mission

For decades, New York City has been a popular post-grad destination for OCU alumni, creating a large member base that continues to grow exponentially each year. OCUNYC strives to provide opportunities for our community members to connect and build relationships both professionally and socially. From Broadway actors to banking executives, our community reaches across all fields and we have so much to learn from each other.

OCUNYC is an organization built by and for its members. Our volunteer Board of Directors serves as support for our membership, planning OCUNYC events and identifying opportunities to further our mission. We rely on year-round volunteers and community donations to continue providing professional and social opportunities to our members. Join us!
