Simón Gómez Villegas (they/all) is a musician and writer from Bogotá, Colombia. Blending musical theater with cinematic pop and Americana, Simón makes art that “transforms the mundane into magic.” They’ve served at a dinner theater in Alaska, worked run crew in Appalachia, and they actively perform in almost every borough of NYC (still looking for a Staten Island gig). Simón is a 2025-2026 Petri Artist at The Team Plays, where they are developing The Face of God: a musical on the Galveston Hurricane of 1900 and the different human responses to fear and despair after federal warning systems failed. Simón is a BMI lyricist and a member of the Untitled Musical Writers Group. They’ve worn different has in different places such as Mercury Store, Ars Nova, Musical Theater Factory, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the American Repertory Theatre.
